After 2 days of torturous coach ride, we slept in late yesterday and only set off at 11am. Our plan was to visit Princes’ Island, which is about an hour’s ferry ride from Istanbul city. Princes’ island is a group of nine islands in the Mamara sea and we visited one of the biggest and most popular island.
There are no cars or buses on this island. The official mode of transport is horse carriages. The air at Princes' Island smells fresh and natural albeit with a bit of horse dung smell ;) Princes' island makes me feel that I’m living in a fairytale because of the horse carriages and beautiful villas.
We took the horse carriage round the island and climbed to the highest point on the island where an old monastry stood. I had a good time snapping pictures of my furry friends at this place.
We had grilled fish for dinner and rushed off to catch the 3rd last ferry at 5.55pm. Our ferry ticket is a small little token that’s about the size of our 5cts coin.
